Mark Ryden - Snow Yak

Mark Ryden has the most unusual style. In the interest of art and because it's Christmas, I'd like to share some of his peculiar art - Collection entitled Snow Yak.

Your Movember Tash

It's finally here! Boys, you can now get away with looking like a weird and/or creepy pornstar! (if you're not slightly too fair, like a few unlucky blokes in our office)
I'm loving the recent Movember inspiration!

The pretty things I love

These are the pretty things I'll have one day. I love the mix between clean elegance and distressed furniture. It's such a beautiful combination. The most important thing is that they're vintage. It seems so difficult to find almost untouched pieces without paying a piece of your eyeball, you wouldn't enjoy it anyway, you'd be begging people to not touch it incase some permanent red wine ring appears on your new vintage coffee table. Or someone leaves a puff of a perfume stain on you fabulous kitsch silk blouse. I wonder if I should keep my 'modern furniture' (chosen by my lovely boy) just incase it's a sort after vintage special one day.

A fine little day

It's nearly spring time! The day after tomorrow in fact! I would be super excited except for the fact that, typically, it's going to rain. - Gah! I wouldn't be upset if it fell on a Saturday and I could could snuggle up with Casten drinking hot chocolate and having a delicious German breakfast.. but alas it doesn't and.. wait for it.. he has the German measles.. Irony at it's best. If all fell into place I'd also have a cat, a beautiful, clever, loving and cuddly cat... Since I don't have a cat, or my pet hating landlord forbids it... the next best thing is kitty photos I found on ffffound.com. I'm not a weird cat lady but if I saw a bunch of these little ones, I could be persuaded.

Wonderful Wharf

My shared sanctuary.. I lived in fear of sharing it with some smelly boy who loves neutral colours (ie BROWN) okay, we do get pretty shades of brown but he does insist on colour resembling those of one’s bowel movements (excuse the graphic translation but it’s the ugly truth).

I love light colours, lace, and bunnies. This room is mine from the wooden chair, the vintage dress to the little copper owls – I love owls, in my room, draped around my neck or delicately piercing my ear. But alas this room comes without the hairy German and I’m almost certain about my choice between the two. Although the cat is an extremely close second – she’s awfully pretty.

Pretty little houses

I recently stumbled on some beautiful blogs surrounding the magic of interior design. I’ve only just started enjoying the feeling of spending money on myself – clothes (okay, still Mr Price),shoes… PNP pumps count? Woolies food! Yummy, real strawberries.. and now I see there’s another mountain of beautiful stuff this thrift princess has to conquer. I do have some obstacles namely in form of a giant hairy German and his ever annoying kitsch phobia (I’m sure they have a professional or clinical name for that) My darling sister (or fashion rival) and my ever present need for daily design inspiration have brought me to my knees. I want a vintage house! Flat! Room! One space in the house! Give me KITSCH!!! It rhymes with my name; we are destined to be together. But since my many obstacles hinder me so badly, I can only but dream…

I start with different rooms of the house, perhaps on different days. I don’t want to tire of talking about my dream room.. I have many.

Anna Turnock Photograhy

One of my lovely friends Anna is a photographer. She recently sent me a link to her new site. Not only does she have a crazy lovely Kiwi accent but her photography is fricken amazing!! It's too damn bad that she lives all the way in New Zealand - Gah! It seems most of my favourite people are from there (Anna, Brett and Jermaine). If she lived here I would hire her for all my famous fabulous events – I plan to have loads when I’m rich- and most definitely for my wedding (some day). Her photography is classic, artistic, feminine (without being too girly) and she really knows how to capture the moment. I love it!!

I love birds - this one is super special (first photograph at the top) - I love the colour, the depth and the way the one little bird is looking at the camera - beautiful! I also LOVE this car! Even though I can only see a small portion, I can already see myself driving into the NZ sunset, what a beauty!!
